After studying business administration at Bielefeld University and Saarland University, Guido Kerkhoff worked in corporate accounting at the energy supplier Vereinigte Elektrizitätswerke Westfalen (VEW) AG from 1995 to 1996. From 1996 to 2002, he worked at Bertelsmann AG, including in the group accounting/controlling department, where he headed the department for projects and policy issues.
In 2002, Guido Kerkhoff moved to Deutsche Telekom AG, where he held various management positions in the finance department. In 2009, he joined the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom AG, where he was initially responsible for the Southern and Eastern Europe regions and, from 2010, for the entire European business.
In April 2011, Guido Kerkhoff took up the position of Member of the Executive Board and CFO at thyssenkrupp AG. From September 2018 to September 2019, he was Chairman of the Executive Board.
Guido Kerkhoff has been a member of the Executive Board of Klöckner & Co SE since September 1, 2020, and Chairman of the Executive Board (CEO) since May 13, 2021.
Since January 2025, Guido Kerkhoff has also been the honorary moderator of the Initiativkreis Ruhr.
