Active participation by management and employees
Clarification of risks aimed at raising awareness of safety and health protection issues at work
Training sessions and forums for discussions, also for customers
Duisburg, August 1, 2012 – Klöckner & Co is committed to health and safety and as an official partner supports the Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2012-13 on “Working together for risk prevention”. The campaign was initiated by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA).
Gisbert Rühl, Chairman of the Management Board of Klöckner & Co SE: “Our employees are our most valuable resource. As a responsible employer, we do our utmost to provide our employees with the best possible working conditions. Safety and the protection of health in the workplace are of paramount importance to us. Therefore as an official partner, we support the 2012-2013 Healthy Workplaces Campaign on ‘Working together for risk prevention’.”
Since effective safety at work is only achieved when management and staff work together, one focus of the campaign rests on management’s ability to actively interact with employees. The aim of the initiative is to raise awareness for both management and employees regarding safety and protection of health in the workplace. This should create a sustainable culture of risk prevention.
Events on these themes, such as training sessions on safety at work and discussion forums will be coordinated by the official partners. And the focus is not just on the employees. Rühl: “We are aware that our SME customers do not always have the resources to organize effective safety at work. We aim to support our customers with training sessions and discussion forums and give them the opportunity for professional exchange.
Klöckner & Co is organizing various events for customers at selected European branch offices on the occasion of the European Week for Safety and Health at Work – from October 22 to October 26, 2012. More details and dates on this topic will be available on the Company’s website.
