Comprising 65 different nationalities, our employees are highly diverse, which ensures that our customers see themselves well reflected and understood. This allows us to better reach our short, medium and long-term corporate goals and stand as a reliable, high-caliber service partner in the global arena.
We firmly believe that innovative thinking is only possible if it takes different perspectives into account. The successful implementation of our digitalization strategy hinges on the creative solutions of our highly driven employees. We are consequently fully aware of the strategic importance of diversity and regard it as an opportunity to harness the broad range of skills of a multifaceted workforce in taking our business to new heights. This is why we advocate integrating and valorizing cultural as well as social diversity and sensitize our employees to create an environment where everyone is made to feel welcome and appreciated.
To us, creativity means making the most of people’s different cultural backgrounds and genders. That’s why we promote not only different nationalities but also women stepping up into specialist and management positions. For this reason, we have not only set our sights on increasing the number of women in management roles throughout the Group but have already incorporated and begun implementing it in our strategy. So far, the percentage of women employed at management levels one to three below board level has already risen from eight percent in 2010 to 14 percent in 2014 and has been maintained since then. The aim is to have one in five management positions held by women by the year 2020.
There is no doubt that our measures geared to advancing women in management positions are bearing fruit. We know because the Frauen-Karriere-Index 2015 and the Frauen-Karriere-Index 2016 – an independent annual survey based on objective corporate facts and figures relating to the promotion of women in decision-making positions – has rated us again among the top ten companies in 2016. So far, 160 companies have agreed to be indexed.
In addition, we are committed to the "Chefsache" initiative. "Chefsache" is a network of leaders from industry and science, the public sector and the media personally committed to make gender balance a top management priority. The "Chefsache" initiative is committed to lead by example, exploring new concepts and approaches to promote the required change of mind-set throughout society.
